The ways that Karen's viewpoints on public health and ethics are reflected in her CV are that, when she discusses the courses she took, there were lots of courses that were aimed at ethics and public health, and they were listed first. Also, when talking about her classroom goals, she talks about how she wants to promote a safe and ethical classroom.

Her choices in her CV reflect her philosophy, first by when she talks about her philosophy, and how she wants her students to think about philosophy. She also lists all of her philosophy courses second, showing how they are important, but not the most.

Finally, her philosophy is reflected in her CV, by the fact that she talks about how she wants to teach philosophy, and even play devils advocate with her students.

I found this piece to be interesting, and at times shocking. Hearing about how the author felt so oppressed by having to be both strong and self reliant, and yet dependent, and about how she says women deal with this internal dilemma was quite shocking. I honestly had no idea this was going on, so to hear her speak about it was quite shocking. I was also quite surprised to hear about her experience in catholic school. She talks about how her teachers made Natives sound like savages, yet she was Native American. I don't know how I would be able to handle this, a teacher slandering my people like that. I am just left confused as to how she stayed strong through this. My final reaction to this piece though was one of interest when she talks about how her family, mainly her mother, passed down stories about the past, and about relatives, and ancestors. I was quite interested by this, because my family didn't engage in much story telling about the past, my grandparents were keen believers most times in "the past should stay the past" so they didn't like talking about their past. So to hear about that being a part of her life was something very interesting.
