2. The author says that these voice recording promote a false efficiency. I agree with this statement because in trying to be efficient and save time and money, they are in fact doing just the opposite. It is extremely frustrating for a consumer when they are trying to get a simple problem fixed, but there is no option in the recording for that. It could be much quicker to actually get a person on the phone to help out with the problem. It also gives off a better reputation, I believe, to consumers because it shows that the company cares about you and your problems specifically and individually, as opposed to just treating everyone as a whole.
