11/3/2011 Bad Associations

I find it hilarious that this man is so computer illiterate. I have had many experiences like his and never had my computer completely erased. It is true that technology is constantly evolving, but his worries are misplaced. Privacy can be an issue but software updates occur far less than security updates. I probably have 5 different programs for virus protection on my PC and my mac, well my mac handles all that shit. It is far mar advanced than anything i could do on my own. It is my partner, not my enemy. This guy sounds like he is 70 years old and hates how the young whipper snappers understand everything better than he does. We control computers, computers don't control us. BOOM. This relates to our next project because it is all about utilizing the computer and its numerous advantages.

  1. I agree. The guy sounded like he was more bitter about where technology is going rather than appreciating what it does for us.

  2. I agree with what you said. I definitely think that this author just jumped to conclusions about how technology is bad because his whole computer erased. All the new advances are a little hard to keep up with, but you just have to take the time to learn. Get virus protection, they make lots of different programs and he just needed to be a little more open to the idea of technology and he might find the advantages of it.

  3. I agree with your post for the most part, but there is significant worry that in the near future computers will become smart enough to think by themselves.
