Quickwrite 9/6

Django Paris' article, "They're in My Culture, They Speak the Same Way", relates to our class by further developing my understanding of literacy. Everyone around the United States speaks in noticeable grammatically unique ways in order to communicate. I used to believe that people spoke in different slangs because they couldn't comprehend and speak grammatical English but after reading Paris' article I have found that each style is developed so that an entire culture can speak with one another comfortably. In his writing, the author showed me that different cultures use the same language in order to communicate. The article relates to my life because one of my suite mates is from China. He uses English in order to communicate with me but in order to help himself when he does not understand something I say, he uses a iPhone application to translate. This article has shown me that not only is he learning from me, but I am also learning from him because I get to hear my sentence in Chinese after he translates it.
