My general reaction to the reading, "Where I Come From Is Like This", was a shock. My self personally has never heard of any of the sterotypes she talked about in her essay for Indian women. It has always been a rhomur or sterotype that women are weak or inferior to men, but in reality the world would be nothing like it is today without women. The true shocking part about the reading was that women were actually cased off because of their menstrual cycle. Nevertheless, women are what makes the world. Everyone is equally needed.....Period.
