"What was your general reaction to the piece?"
Well, this piece really didn't interest me much. I also found it hard to follow along, and so I kind of just skimmed it. Overall it was hard for me to focus on the content because it was a piece I would normally never even look at. But what I did get out of it was that literacy has a different definition to different people. I never thought that groups of people who use slang or whom I believe are somewhat illiterate actually are literate in their own style of language. They have their own grammar structure, and to them, they are 100% literate. The definition of literacy isn't black and white.
