"Where I Come from is Like This" 9/8

A few things that I completely disagreed with was the story she told about how women in ancient tribes were viewed as inferior, evil, untrustworthy, and used only for child birth. I find this highly disrespectful to women because they contribute to our everyday successes in life and America wouldn't be where it is today without them. I found it comical that Indians believed a woman's period sucked their magical and spiritual powers from the important men of the tribe, so they often used virgin indians to perform tribal rituals. I thank the common sense of american culture for sobering the thoughts of men and bringing the woman to the pedestal to which she belongs.
