Beccabaz: quick write Django

Why do you think that I had you read Django?

I believe you had us read Diango to broaden our perspective in what we individually believe what language means to us. After reading about the children having there own way of speaking to each other in a slang like way i realized that it was considered a type of language, I used to think that it was just the in proper way of speaking english. The students Paris were reachercing with to me were considered bi-ligual. his writing had to do a lot with tradition, for example the kids would speak how there relatives spoke in front of them, but would change the way of speaking around their friends. This piece has really changed my ways of thinking about what language and liteture mean to me, before this class I tought that literacy just meant reading and writing, but now i see that being literate can mean so many different things, like in class how you can say someone was literate in math or a sport.

  1. ya i had pretty much the same reaction to the reading. its very strange to think of slang as its own language.
