General reaction- "Where I Come From Is Like This"

My general reaction to this reading was interested. The reading explained the struggle that women have had over the years and how they have succeeded to have a purpose in this world. I have grown up around women who are very strong and have been through a lot. I have seen that women can make lives for themselves. My grandmother has seen and lived through wars growing up in Italy and she has made a good life for herself. She has been a role model for many of the women in my family, and all of them can fend for themselves. The reading also showed the mother passing down tradition to her daughter, which the women in my family can relate to. It was interesting to me that i could somewhat relate to the reading.
