"What was your general reaction to the piece?"
My first reaction was a general feeling of being lost in what Paris is trying to convey. It seemed very cluttered with all the parentheses and mentions to other works. The main reading itself though was something I normally wouldn't read but to hear Paris' study of the AAL was eye opening. I started to realize the slang that my friends and I use that I didn't realize before. This piece made me think of the slang and dialects across not only the United States but of the world and how a language can influence how one may think as well.
