12/8 Post

I found this piece to be very interesting. She mentions that her mom spoke in broken down English. There are a lot of students here at MSU that are the same way. I have a lot of kids from China that are in one of my other classes and we are required to work in groups. I often finding myself speaking in very simple sentences and not using any slang. I find it very easy to relate to Amy Tan.

  1. I found this piece interesting as well because I am also in the same boat as far as speaking in "simpler" sentences to kids in my Science class. I liked this piece because I like how most of us in this class can relate to her since MSU is such a diverse college!

  2. I couldnt agree more I never expected MSU to have so many foreign students. One of my friend's old roomates was Chinese and we would always have to use simpler sentences to communicate with him. Everyone on campus I think can relate to this piece in someway
